FMNH: Daspletosaurus II

A second shot of D.torosus. Fun fact: back when this specimen was initially mounted for display, "Das" here was misidentified as Gorgosaurus libratus, yet another contemporary North American tyrannosaur species. Comparable in general length & proportions, "G." was rather less robust of build, skull & dental array than its rugged cousin, prompting speculation that the two opted for different prey items. Paleontologist Thomas Carr corrected this teeny-tiny labeling error back in '99.
